We have been fortunate to secure multiple successful funding streams during the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024 that will propel our growth and innovation as a local, independent charity. This will help us enhance our services and have a broader reach within in our local community. We are grateful for the trust and support of our investors, whose belief in our vision has been instrumental in driving our success. With this continued momentum we are excited to further our mission and make a lasting impact to those most in need within our community.

In January 2024, We were successful in our application to The National Lottery Community Fund meaning we will have our volunteer manager in post for another year.

The Volunteer manager role is an integral part of our service which includes working closely with schools/colleges, statutory organisations and third sector partners to ensure that strong support networks and collaborative work is achieved to ensure the best possible outcome for all our volunteers

We have received 3-year funding towards support worker costs to help with the preparation of hot nutritious meals, cooking and serving those that attend our free meals on Wednesdays. They will also be helping service users who come in to access our Food Pantry to fill their bags, receive payment, and answer any queries on our services

In August 2023 we were successful in receiving funding from Children in Need to employ a youth services manager over 3 years and the appointment was given to Marlena Kaczmarek. This grant will develop the organisation’s capacity to support disadvantaged children and young people in Bridgend. The children and young people will feel more empowered, have increased emotional skills, and improved life skills

We are currently going into our second year of funding from the Tudor Trust who has enabled us to employ a Development Officer and look at all areas of the organisation and make changes that support the growth and sustainability in line with the needs of the community.

In March 2024 we were successful in receiving funding from the Postcode Lottery to fund 2 support workers for a year to continue to provide activities that reduce food insecurity for our community within our community hub

Moondance have been strong supporters of the work that we undertake here at the Bridge, and have recently agreed to fund two vital support worker roles in our community hub. This will enable us to turn our focus on the service that we provide the community and how we can support those in need more efficiently. We are very grateful for this support.

We have received funding from Community Foundation Wales on behalf of Principality Building Society to enable us to run an additional youth club for young people aged 13-18. We will help provide life skills for young people preparing for the future and world of work

Our continued thanks to the following organisations for their ongoing support which helps us to provide an important service to the people of Bridgend and surrounding areas.
