News

We have been fortunate to secure multiple successful funding streams during the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024 that will propel our growth and innovation as a local, independent charity. This will help us enhance our services and have a broader reach within in our local community. We are grateful for the trust and support of our investors, whose belief in our vision has been instrumental in driving our success. With this continued momentum we are excited to further our mission and make a lasting impact to those most in need within our community.

In January 2024, We were successful in our application to The National Lottery Community Fund meaning we will have our volunteer manager in post for another year.

The Volunteer manager role is an integral part of our service which includes working closely with schools/colleges, statutory organisations and third sector partners to ensure that strong support networks and collaborative work is achieved to ensure the best possible outcome for all our volunteers

They will also be helping service users who come in to access our Food Pantry to fill their bags, receive payment, and answer any queries on our services

In August 2023 we were successful in receiving funding from Children in Need to employ a youth services manager over 3 years and the appointment was given to Marlena Kaczmarek. This grant will develop the organisation’s capacity to support disadvantaged children and young people in Bridgend. The children and young people will feel more empowered, have increased emotional skills, and improved life skills
