Thank you to Tesco Bridgend for letting us visit recently and their continued support through the FareShare scheme.

Thanks to funding from Track 2000 and The People's Health Trust we have been able to encourage people to set up their own support groups held at theZone.

These range from arts and crafts to mental health issues, parents of children with disabilities and friendship groups.

If you would like to join any of our existing groups  or if you would like to set up your own group please

call Angela on 01656 647891.

We are very grateful to Bridgend Town Council and FP Hurley for financing the new shutters at theZone - a massive thank you from us all

Coming after Easter 2019 - Are you interested in helping young and disadvantaged young people in the Bridgend area?

We are looking for volunteers who are good listeners and who can relate to the often difficult experiences these young people and children are facing.

We will be running a mentoring course one evening a week between 6pm and 9pm for 5 weeks.  For more information visit our mentoring page here or for more information call Angela on 01656 647891.

March 2019 - Heartfelt thanks for the grant from The Millennium Charitable Trust which has enabled use to offer 25 volunteer placements to unemployed or vulnerable adults in the local community.  Many gained accreditation certificates in either volunteering, mentoring or serving food and several went on to gain employment. One of our participants had this to say:

"I enjoy volunteering at theZone because it has given me the opportunity to improve my skills in communication and working with others of all walks of life.  I have also got myself a job as a waitress in a local restaurant because it helped motivate me."  CL

Thanks to BAVO for this lovely article in their Annual Report

February 2019 - We are thrilled to announce that we have been successful in receiving a grant from Track 2000 to support running the Zone and Bridge MPS.

February 2019 - We are also very pleased to announce that we have received £4000 from the Tesco Bags for Life token scheme. This will  be used to provide mentoring to young people. Thanks to everyone who supported us and thanks to Tesco!

January 2019 - We are pleased to announce that we have received funding from the Children and Young People's Fund to open a youth club on Monday evenings from 6pm to 7:45pm in theZone.

This will provide a safe place for young people aged 8 plus to socialise and to have somewhere to talk about any problems they have.  Qualified youth workers will arrange a variety of educational, social and recreational activities such as cookery sessions, games/crafts/skill building, trips/events and guidance on the safe use of social media/internet.
For more information please email Sara on or call The Bridge on 01656 647891 Monday to Thursday between 9am and 1pm.
