The Zone Food Policy
As many of you know, funding for The Zone ended early in 2016 and since then we have been working tirelessly to ensure that the centre remains open to the public. We have been able to-do this through our fundraising efforts.
As well as raising funds through events and the many kind donations we’ve received from the public to date, we also rely on the income we get from the purchase of food and drinks from our coffee bar.
Every penny that we get goes straight back into The Zone meaning we can keep our doors open by:
- paying for rent and rates
- paying for utilities including, gas & electric
- funding staff and centre administration (including ‘free’ WiFi)
- repairs and maintenance to the building and equipment
- providing a safe and clean environment
- offering subsidised refreshment
In a nutshell, everything we raise goes towards paying for the above and more.
That is why we are now asking that ALL patrons and users of The Zone to please not bring your food items into the centre and instead help us by purchasing food and drink items from us during your visit.
(We of course understand that some people will have special dietary needs and that infants and children will require items that we don’t cater for and we welcome the use of your own food/drink items in these instances. See staff for any questions).
