Celebrating BBC Children in Need.
In preparation for Friday’s BBC Children in Need celebrations we were delighted to welcome BBC Radio Wale’s Jason Phelps together with gold medal winning Paralympian, Aled Davies MBE into The Bridge Mentoring Scheme on Tuesday evening. Jason and Aled visited the centre to see first hand how our Children in Need funding is being used to help Bridgend’s younger community members through our weekly youth club.
During their visit, Jason and Aled took time out to join in in the various activities and chat with our young people and staff members. We hope you all managed to catch-up with them in this mornings interview on BBC Radio 2 😉
Held every Tuesday between 6pm and 8pm our youth club is open to all young persons aged between 8 and 16 years old. Staffed by qualified youth workers and volunteer mentors, this venue is an important one for those that attend, as it’s a place free from judgement, ridicule and expectation – our young people deserve to feel themselves and be young!
From all of us here at The Bridge Mentoring Plus Scheme, we’d like to thank Jason and Aled for popping by and taking an interest in the things we do here.
You can be a part of what we do here at The Zone by attending or volunteering – our motto here is, Together We Can! So, give Laura a call on 01656 649378 or Sara on 647891.
